About me
Hello! My name is Jacobo Ríos 1. I’m an avid gamer, and game developer at heart; especially passionate about real-time Graphics and Engine Programming (although I’ve worked other aspects too).
I’m currently working at Hydra-Technologies, building a custom 3D rendering engine for a Flight and Terrain Analysis Simulation system for the aerospace industry; But in the past I have had the honor of working on different projects for game companies like Digital Extremes, Sony San Diego Studio, Electronic Arts, Larva Game Studios, and Immersion Games.
I started this blog in an attempt to record so many interesting discussions and personal thoughts (mostly about graphics programming and gamedev) that arise with coworkers, friends and industry colleagues. Discussions I greatly enjoy and find so enriching, but unfortunately often end up lost among posts in some social network, or simply forgotten after a conversation.
So I thought it would be a good idea to use this blog to write about all those interesting things I usually discuss here and there, taking advantage that many times I already have a great part of them written… and even maybe expand here with a little more liberty.

1 Many people wonder how should they pronaunce my name; while that would be: /xaˈkoβo ˈri.os/, you can just call me “Jacob”, as most of my english-speaking friends do, and we’ll be cool.
